Over the past 6 months, I have had some strange and amusing responses after dancing with me.  I thought I would share my top 3 post dance comments in a light hearted post.  My top three in no particular order:

1) When I walk into a venue the first thing I do is see if any of my friends are there – I very rarely dance within the first 20 minutes of arriving.  On this occasion, I was asked for a dance by someone I do not know and did not even have a chance to put down my bag or take off my jacket.  I have a policy of not saying no so I went with it.  When I asked what style she preferred she said that she is better at On1 but wanted to try On2 – I am very against this as I really believe that the dance floor is not a time for learning your basics, but hey ho, again I just went with it.

Throughout the song she just looked so grumpy and annoyed so halfway through I actually wanted to ask her if she wanted to stop, thankfully I did not as once the song finished she had the biggest grin on her face and practically jumped onto me and gave me a bone-crunching hug.  God, people really have to work on their facial expressions…

2) I like the fact that I am still unknown as a dancer and as such, I always like to play the beginners card when asking international performers to dance.  So I am at a weekender and I rock up to the strongest dancer from the performers’ crowd and asked her to dance.  She said yes and when I told her that I was a beginner, she smiled and said “that is ok”, so we dance very basic at first and then slowly we ramp up.

At the end of the dance I said thank you and try to walk away as she grips my arm and stops me dead and asks “who the hell are you???”, I reply coolly “just a London dancer”, to which she replies “Bullshit”, we start chatting and she makes me promise to go to the party the day after…

3) I know I said no particular order but this is my all-time favourite.  I am sitting around chilling and chatting to friends when I notice this really bored-looking girl on the side of the dance floor.  I don’t think she understands that her demeanour is probably the reason she has been standing for the last hour.  I have not seen her around so thought why not.  I ask her for a dance and we get some crazy song.

After the dance she said “what the fuck was that?” I look bewildered and ask “is that a good or bad thing”, she replied “I don’t know, I had no idea what I was doing”… I asked “Do you feel like you was on time?”, she said “yes”… “do you feel like you were hitting the breaks and accenting the music”, she said “yes”, “don’t you think that you should get this all the time”, she said “yes”… my final line “isn’t it a shame that you don’t get that in this club”, she said “yes” and then asked me where I normally dance.

There are a whole bunch of funny responses and each one is precious as they are moments caught in time.  What were your funniest moments?
